The Hawks of Becker College came away with a 9-0 conference win over the Newbury College Nighthawks today in Chestnut Hill, MA.  With the loss, Newbury dropped to 5-9 (2-3 NECC) while Becker improved to 8-4 (2-1).

The Hawks Catie Sivret (Stow, MA/Nashoba Regional) and Megan Nessan (Leivttown, PA/Harry S. Truman) made quick work of Jillian Wojtowicz (Palmer, MA/Palmer) and Kristen Conners (Riverside, RI/East Providence) in the number 1 and 2 singles spots winning their sets with scores of 6-0, 6-0 and 6-0, 6-1.  Wojtowicz and Conners would challenge Sivret and Nessan in the number 1 doubles spot, but the Hawks would eventually overpower the Nighthawks and took the set 8-6.

The Hawks also had key wins from Danielle Strylcer (Ledyard, CT/Ledyard), Shauna McNally (Shrewsbury, MA/Bourne) and Stephanie Sabolik (Stony Brook, NY/John S. Burke) who would all won their singles matches on the day.  

The Nighthawks travel to Becker College tomorrow Sunday October 12, 2008 to face off against the Hawks again, Match time is 1:00pm
