Nighthawks Soar to First Win of the Season 

The Nighthawks of Newbury College dominated the Falcons of Albertus Magnus College securing their first win of the season by a score of 7-2, in Chestnut Hill, MA this afternoon. 

The Nighthawks picked up two wins each from Brittani Robinson (Boston, MA/Cathedral), Stephanie Valentine (Pleasant Valley, CT/Saint Paul Catholic) and Elizabeth Valcourt (Grantham, NH/Lebanon), while Anna Collins (Hopkinton, MA/Hopkinton), Jillian Wojtowicz (Palmer, MA/Palmer) and Kristen Conners (Riverside, RI/East Providence) each secured one win a piece respectively.

In Singles, Robinson and Valentine made quick work of their opponents, posting scores of 6-0, 6-0 each, while Valcourt defeated Alain Munley (Fairfield, MA/Fairfield Warde) with scores of 6-2, 6-1.  In the number one singles spot, Wojtowicz defeated a talented and tough Amanda Maurer (Hillsboro, NH/Jonathan Law) 6-2, 6-4.       

The Nighthawks will travel to Emerson College on Thursday September 18, 2008 to take on the Lions at 6:30pm.
